Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, confident, and professional Bookkeeper to take ownership of our debtors and creditors functions within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records through to trial balance, ensuring that all transactions are processed with precision and in line with internal controls. In addition to core bookkeeping responsibilities, this role will support the broader business with key administrative finance functions, including the completion of vendor applications, compliance documentation, and tender submissions.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is highly organised, proactive, and able to operate effectively under pressure. You will form part of a high-performing internal team and will be expected to contribute to the overall efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism of the organisation’s financial processes.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, and is comfortable working in an environment where pace is high, expectations are clear, and attention to detail is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full accounts payable and receivable functions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all debtor and creditor transactions
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally
Prepare accounts up to trial balance for submission to external accounting firm
Maintain and update cashbooks and general ledger entries
Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
Complete vendor onboarding documentation, including supplier forms and compliance requirements
Support the business with tender and proposal documentation from a financial perspective
Generate and distribute regular reports on outstanding invoices, payments, and cash flow
Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships
Ensure all financial transactions are captured accurately, completely, and timeously
Manage inventory entries within the accounting system, ensuring alignment with financial records
Provide a direct reporting line to the CEO, with the ability to identify, flag, and communicate key issues clearly, calmly, and professionally
Contribute as a committed member of a high-performing team, proactively identifying process improvements to streamline activities, enhance efficiency, and support delivery
