Developing your skills as a firearm owner

Non-accredited Training

Non-accredited training is training that is not unit-standard based but rather focused on developing your skills as a firearm owner. Unit standard based training is fairly minimal in terms of aquiring the skills you will need to confidently and proficiently use your firearm when faced with a life-threatening situation.

ITA runs Skills Builder Course at different levels which teaches you how to properly carry a firearm in a holster, draw the firearm from the holster, and quickly and efficiently place your sites on the target. You will also be taught to clear firearm malfunctions and conduct magazine changes while on the move. First time firearm owners should participate in skills builder courses once their firearms are licensed to build confidence and muscle memory.
